    Limitation of number of files

The number of files you can select at once is limited to 0 to prevent your browser from crashing, as your browser and/or Javascript potentially cannot handle the load if you select many files at once.

    Identify files inside ZIP files

    Not yet enabled

To identify files inside ZIP files, enable this option. It is disabled by default because it might consume all your RAM and CPU.

The maximum filesize FIDOO of ZIP files can handle is 4GB (according to specifications), but your browser probably won't let you open files over one or two GB. It also depends on configuration of your computer and other voodoo stuff.

Depth of identification is 1, so it will not identify files inside ZIP files inside ZIP files (etc).

    Matching method

    strict

A result is reported if all parts of a signature match the file.

    relaxed

A result is reported if one or more parts of a signature match the file.

    💡 Tip:

if you don't get results using strict matching, click relaxed to identify the files again without all parts having to match.

    Disable priority override

This setting overrides hiding of file formats that have less priority than other results.

For example, an OLE type Word document is also identified as OLE2 Compound Document Format. Disabling priority override will also show a result for OLE2 Compound Document Format, otherwise the result will only show a result for Word document.

This also goes for Open Office document types, which are zip files. If priority is disabled it will show that it is a ZIP file and also an Open Office file.
